Verify a file

Verify whether a file or document matches a Lexkeep record anchored on blockchain. You can verify a file by uploading it, entering its cryptographic hash, or using an anchor or blockchain transaction reference.

Verify from an Integrity Evidence Report

If you have a Lexkeep File Integrity Evidence Report in PDF format, you can open the verification page directly from the report.

1. Open the Integrity Evidence Report.
2. Scan the QR code with your device, or click the verification link in the report.
3. Lexkeep opens the verification page and automatically verifies the associated document record.

You do not need to upload the file or enter verification details when you use the QR code or verification link in the report.

The result shows whether the supplied information matches the Lexkeep record anchored on blockchain.

Verify a file manually

1. In the Lexkeep navigation menu, select Resources.
2. Click Verify document.
3. Choose one of the available verification methods:
   • Upload File
   • Enter Hash
   • Anchor / Tx Reference
4. Enter or upload the required information.
5. Click Verify Document.

Verify by uploading a file

Use this method when you have a copy of the file you want to check.

1. Select Upload File.
2. Click Browse, then select the file from your device.
3. Click Verify Document.

Lexkeep hashes the selected file locally in your browser using Keccak-256 before verification. The file itself is not uploaded; only the resulting hash is sent to Lexkeep for verification.

Verify by file hash

Use this method when you already have the file’s cryptographic hash.

1. Select Enter Hash.
2. Paste or enter the file hash.
3. Click Verify Document.

Verify by anchor or transaction reference

Use this method when you have the anchor reference or blockchain transaction ID associated with the file.

1. Select Anchor / Tx Reference.
2. Enter the anchor reference or transaction ID.
3. Click Verify Document.

Understand the result

A successful result confirms that the provided file, hash, or reference matches a Lexkeep record anchored on blockchain.

If the result does not match, check that:

• You selected the correct file.
• The file has not changed since it was anchored.
• You are verifying the correct version of the file.
• The hash, anchor reference, or transaction ID was entered correctly.

A changed file produces a different cryptographic hash and will not match the anchored record.
